I enjoyed this movie for the most part. Actually some parts of the movie that I enjoyed made me feel bad about myself as a human being.
One thing I couldn’t get past was it was clear that Ronnie Barnhardt (Seth Rogen) was clearly written for Danny McBride (who had a small cameo in the movie). Not that Rogen was bad. The parts where you’re supposed to feel any empathy for Ronnie, he plays well and I don’t think McBride could have pulled off as well. But during the more manic scenes, Ronnie sounded more like the two characters that Jody Hill and Danny McBride made in The Foot Fist Way and “Eastbound & Down”.
The last 8 minutes…wow. Just wow. I was in hysterical laughter until the “Oh shit” moment.
It wasn’t a great movie but it was very ballsy (unfortunately I mean that figuratively and literally).
