This is how you make a low-budget (relatively speaking) horror movie.
I missed this Sam Raimi. The cheap thrills and scares. The kinetic energy that can only be found in his movies (the fight in the car at the beginning of the movie had Evil Dead written all over it). I think I can finally forgive him for Spider-Man 3.
The only disappointment was that he couldn’t find a role for Bruce Campbell.
It’s weird that movies like the Saw franchise relatively make money but a smart horror movie like this struggles in the box office. What does it say about the viewing public?
