This movie was brilliant.  In a summer of remakes and recycled ideas, Distict 9 definitely stands out. It kinda bums me out that director Neill Blomkamp and producer Peter Jackson may never get to show us their vision for Halo because after seeing this, I have no doubt it will be awesome.

Sharlto Copley (Wikus) gave one of the best performances of the year in my opinion. The fact that improvised a large portion of his dialogue only enhances the performance.

The only thing that stopped this from getting four was I didn’t particularly like the Nigerian subplot.  I felt like the movie had enough villains that Obesandjo (Eugene Khumbanyiwa) seemed excessive and unnecessary.
