2009: 15 Favorite Movies

Now that I’ve seen Avatar, I can make this list. It didn’t feel right making a favorite movies list not having seen what appears to be the future highest grossing movie of all-time.

From least most favorite to most most favorite (movies link to my original poorly-written review):

15. Drag Me To Hell

14. (500) Days of Summer

13. Paranormal Activity

12. Away We Go

11. Star Trek

10. In The Loop

9. The Hangover

8. District 9

7. Where The Wild Things Are

6. Inglourious Basterds

5. Up

4. Fantastic Mr. Fox

3. Up In The Air

2. Avatar

1. The Hurt Locker

Movie of the Week: Away We Go

Everything about this movie was great. Both hilarious and touching. I find it funny that this is the movie Sam Mendes made after Revolutionary Road. RR made me never want to get married again while Away We Go makes you jealous of loving relationships.

The script was also great but I expected no less from Dave Eggers (who co-wrote with Vendela Vida). This bodes well for Where The Wild Things Are.

I was worried I would get tired of John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph but I never did and everyone made great use of their screen time (particularly Allison Janney and Chris Messina)
