I forgot East Bound and Down and Psych.
Damn you, television execs:
- First of all, a moment of praise for the finale season of The Shield. It has definitely set the bar for how you close out a drama.
- Now, a moment of silence for Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone.
- Shows that I can’t watch (at least live): The Reaper (Tuesdays at 9PM; CW) which sucks because I spent the whole summer catching up; House (Mondays at 8PM; FOX) which is Fringe and American Idol’s fault; Scrubs (Tuesdays at 9 PM; ABC) which sucks because a) it’s Zach Braff’s last season and b) word is the show is the best it has ever been; Chuck (Mondays at 8 PM; NBC) which I’ve rarely been able to watch live but I was hoping it got moved
Sunday (4.5 hours):
8:00 - 8:30 PM: The Simpsons (FOX)
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Desperate Housewives (ABC)
9:00- 10:00 PM: Big Love (HBO) I don’t even remember how last season ended (1/18)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Brothers & Sisters (ABC)
10:00 - 10:30 PM: Flight of the Conchords (HBO) (1/18)
10:30 - 11:00 PM: East Bound and Down (HBO) It stars Danny McBride. That’s all I need to know. (1/18)

8:00 - 8:30 PM: The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
8:30 - 9:00 PM: How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Heroes (NBC)
9:00 - 10:00 PM: 24 (FOX) - The trailers look promising. Almeida lives! (1/11)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Castle (ABC) - It stars Nathan Fillion. Nuff said (3/9)
Tuesday (5 hours):
8:00 - 9:00 PM: 90210 (CW)
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Fringe (FOX) - Beyond watching for Jasika, this show has gotten really good lately
9:00 - 10:00 PM: The Mentalist (CBS)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Cupid (ABC) - I used to love the original with Jeremy Piven. Hopefully second times a charm (although they already had their episode order cut) (3/24)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Nip/Tuck (FX) - I’m a little bummed that Katee Sackhoff isn’t going to be on this season (1/6)
Wednesday (3 hours):
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Lost (ABC) - WE HAVE TO GO BACK, KATE! WE HAVE TO GO BACK!! (1/21)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Life on Mars (ABC)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Damages (FX) I’m really curious how this season is going to play out considering the first season made it seem like it was a one-and-done show but DAMN if that isn’t an awesome cast with William Hurt, Marcia Gay Harden and Timothy Olyphant coming on board (1/7)
Thursday (5.5 hours):
8:00 - 9:00 PM: Bones (FOX) - I wasn’t loving Ugly Betty that much this season. At least, not much as Bones
8:00 - 8:30 PM: My Name Is Earl (NBC)
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) - Well, they didn’t give Izzie a brain tumor per se…
9:00 - 9:30 PM: The Office (NBC) - I miss Amy Ryan
9:30 - 10:00 PM: 30 Rock (NBC) - I hope we are done with the guest stars
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Private Practice (ABC)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Kings (NBC) - Sounds interesting but has anything new on NBC not been canceled (3/19)
Friday (5 hours):
8:00 - 9:00 PM: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX) - I’m glad I get to watch this regularly again.
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Friday Night Lights (NBC) - It’s been really hard to not watch it via torrents or read the recaps on The Onion’s TV Club or What’s Alan Watching (1/16)
9:00 - 10:00 PM: Dollhouse (FOX) - Fox gives Joss Whedon and Elisha Dushku another chance (or is it the other way around) (2/13)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Battlestar Galactica (SCIFI) - The final episodes. Too many good shows have ended. (1/16)
10:00 - 11:00 PM: Psych (USA) (1/9)
Saturday (1.5 hours):
11:30 PM - 1:00 AM: Saturday Night Live (NBC)
29.5 hours total (although some of these shows will not be on the air at the same time)
