The Chess & Checkers Theory

I wanna say something. I’m gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it, if you don’t, send it right back.
– Ron Burgandy

So I have this theory about relationships I constantly refer to call “The Chess/Checkers Theory.” Here’s the gist of it:

  • Women are playing chess
  • Men are playing checkers
  • Women think men are playing chess
  • Men think women are playing checkers

Now, of course, this does not apply to all men and women but it does apply to a lot of them.

  1. Interesting theory – In my case, your theory is 50% true…or is it?

I’ve been playing checkers for years, and have recently decided to stop waiting on my guy friends to teach me how to play chess, and want to learn to play on my own. Maybe my guy friends really DON’T know how to play chess…

When I finally DO learn, who the hell am I gonna play chess with? Who is actually playing??? LOL

    *head throbs*

  2. Men aren’t even playing checkers well. They have some notion that a game is being played but they’ve never been told the rules so they have no strategy. Men are actually playing, ‘I roll the ball to you and you roll it back… be nice to me and I’ll be nice to you.” as their bones are being picked clean.
