31 Today

31 Today
by Aimee Mann

Thirty-one today
What a thing to say
Drinking Guinness in the afternoon
Taking shelter in the black cocoon

I thought my life would be different somehow
I thought my life would be better by now
I thought my life would be different somehow
I thought my life would be better by now
But it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn

Called some guy I knew
Had a drink or two
And we fumbled as the day grew dark
I pretended that I felt a spark

I thought my life would be different somehow
I thought my life would be better by now
I thought my life would be different somehow
I thought my life would be better by now
But it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn
No, it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn
No, it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn

Easter comes and goes
Maybe Jesus knows
So you roll on with the best you can
Getting loaded, watching CNN

I thought my life would be different somehow
I thought my life would be better by now
I thought my life would be different somehow
I thought my life would be better by now
But it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn
No, it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn
No, it’s not, and I don’t know where to turn
No, it’s not, and I don’t know

  1. It never ceases to amaze me how many birthdays are July 4. Have a good one, man. Welcome to 31. 🙂

  2. What?–thats wasn’t an original blogpost idea? Still glad you passed it along–but if its not yours you shouldn’t take credit for it Melanism! And you didn’t need to since there’s still a lot of originality to the post because you have to fill in your own albums, sooo…its definitely a cool idea.
