The Nostalgia Factory

With the news that Disney is considering a Boy Meets World spinoff focusing on the daughter of Cory and Topanga Matthews (Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel), I began to think of other sitcoms that I wouldn’t mind seeing sequels of.

Parker Lewis Can’t Lose (1990-1993)

How It Might Work: Parker Lewis (Corin Nemec) has kids of his own and they are as devious and technologically-sound as he and his friends were in their day. Mikey (Billy Jayne) can be a retired musician living off the royalties while Jerry (Troy Slaten) is living off is cashed out Apple stock. Former Principal Musso (Melanie Chartoff) is now the superintendant. Kubiac (Abraham Benrubi) can be the gym teacher/football coach.

The Wonder Years (1988-1993)

How It Might Work: It’s the 90’s and a newly-divorced Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage) seeks to reconnect with his true love, Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar). Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano) is incredibly wealthy and tries to talk Kevin out of it. Wayne Arnold (Jason Hervey) is still a jerk but a more responsible one and Karen (Olivia d’Abo) is on and off drugs constantly crashing with her little brother.

Daria (1997-2002)

How It Would Work: I have no idea but if Beavis & Butthead could make a comeback, why can’t we find out how successful Daria Morgendorffer has become and how unimpressed she is by it?

What shows would you want to see as a spinoff?

  1. I would looove to see remakes of Out of this World (she has a kid that has powers, but now its the internet age, insanity ensues ( blah blah), Punky Brewster (she adopts wacky kids like herself), South Central (actually I just want to see more episodes!!), and of couse Family Matters (You know Urkel has to come back to sitcome TV).
